A separation or divorce is an extremely emotional and stressful time. Kimberley listens to her clients, cares about their issues both legal and personal, and ensures their voice is heard throughout the legal process. With plenty of litigation experience in the family courts, Kimberley believes that fighting in court is very rarely in the best interests of the client. She provides support, advocacy and realistic advice. In the Collaborative process, Kimberley and her clients work with their families and other Collaborative professionals to resolve matters in a way that allows the client to move forward with their life with agency and positivity.
Kimberley is also a mediator, skilled in helping parties to reach their own agreements if they choose not to bring their individual lawyers to the negotiation. Like the Collaborative process, Kimberley creates a safe place for individuals in dispute to have an open and honest discussion, allowing them to organically design their own solutions.
Kimberley has always focused on service and conflict management. Kimberley obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, along with additional accreditation in Peace and Post-Conflict studies from the University of Alberta in 2009, where she volunteered with multiple non-profit groups. She graduated from law school at the University of Calgary in 2014, already focusing on family law in her courses, clinical options and volunteer work with Student Legal Assistance. Kimberley was called to the Alberta bar in Edmonton in 2015 and has specialized in family law since.
Kimberley is part of the Family Law and Young Lawyers Executives with the Canadian Bar Association at both the provincial and national level. Kimberley is a volunteer lawyer with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, providing free legal advice to low income Edmontonians.
Kimberley can also help her clients with real estate, wills and other legal matters that often arise with a separation.
